I’m Valerie aka OneHipSista – a professional graphic designer, website designer, and marketing pro. I also produce music (serious hobbyist) in my spare time.

My Mission

GetHipQuick was born out of a simple idea: people like me—short on time and attention—who still want smart, strategic info we can put to use right away. My goal is to help you get hip and stay hip by getting stuff done so you can move on with your day.

GetHipQuick resources include guides and courses designed for microlearning and made for people who want the straight-no-chaser version of what they need to know. It’s designed for busy creatives, business owners, and nonprofit staff and leaders who don’t have time to sift through long how-tos. Every piece is built to be clear, straightforward, digestible, and useful.

Supporting Creatives

I’ve been an artist most of my life. I am grateful for the gift of creativity, and I’m very much aware of the challenges following a creative path can present. GetHipQuick is a labor of love born from a passion to educate and a desire to share the experiences that have made me who I am. I also want to help aspiring creatives grow in their craft. I’m a former director of marketing, where I coached and managed creatives. I launched my Design Check professional review service to offer practical and honest feedback privately to designers looking to grow. You can view some of my work on Behance.

Working with NPOs

I’ve worked with nonprofits—big and small—for over 20 years, and I care about how they show up in the world. They are real people doing important work and sometimes forget or don’t know how to effectively market themselves. I help them get the well-deserved support they require to serve and inspire others. I’ve seen what works in the real world. It’s what helps good causes grow.
