Generating AI content on topics you know little about is a recipe for disaster.

AI has been a definite help, especially when it comes to me corraling my scattered thoughts into outlines I can then use to organize my content. I’ve used it to generate ideas for social media posts based on my ideas with mixed results. I’ve also let it run rampant and generated a whole book on one platform. It wasn’t bad. It made up my childhood, which was completely false but not bad. The danger comes from not knowing and trusting AI knows better than you do. I saw a post recently about graphic design that had it wrong. I am a subject matter expert with a formal education and years of experience. I knew it was generated by AI because of the way it flowed and the tell-tale emojis. I called it out but in a respectful way. I didn’t go into detail on why it was wrong. just that it was. The person who posted it made a note.

There are people generating content on topics they know nothing about and passing it off as thought leadership. That’s not how it works. The information is there but what happens if you’re questioned about it. Can you explain without going back to your chatbot?
