Background Eraser
The background removal tool is a good choice for quick removal on a graphic, but it is not designed to remove the background for printing with a transparent background. One user thought they could just knock out the background with the background eraser, but when they put it on a dark background, they saw remnants of the image in white. The image was a logo with some additional text under it. It was to be used for some signage or shirts.

What A Pro Would Do
I would find out how the logo was originally designed and see if they have a high-resolution VECTOR format. If not, I would suggest recreating the logo. I might be able to use a large PNG to trace it in Illustrator, but Pro Me would trace it and recreate the other text by identifying the font or one very similar to it.
